AI competence benchmark
What skills are required for the successful introduction and use of AI in companies? This question is not easy to answer, as the importance of different skills for different use cases varies greatly and the availability of skills also depends on framework conditions such as company size or industry. The AI skills benchmark therefore gives companies the opportunity to get to the bottom of the question of the skills required for their own framework conditions.
Target group
The tool is aimed at managers and HR managers who want to position their company in terms of personnel for future AI introductions. In this sense, the tool can be understood as a preparatory measure to clarify the requirements for upcoming AI introductions and can be used with or without an existing AI application idea.
Expected result
The AI skills benchmark contains a list of 35 AI-relevant skills that were scientifically compiled and then evaluated by 215 company representatives with regard to their current level of competence. a) Relevance and b) availability have been assessed. Since not all AI use cases are the same, users have the option of only displaying the ratings of those companies that have similar framework conditions or are pursuing similar AI use cases to their own company. The tool thus provides an overview and raises awareness of the skills that are important when introducing and using AI. By comparing an importance rating with an availability rating, companies ultimately have the opportunity to decide whether suitable measures should be taken for the targeted development of individual skills in their own company.
General conditions
The use of the tool does not require any special prior knowledge or framework conditions. It can be helpful if the users have knowledge of their own personnel structure in order to be able to compare the results of the tool with the internal competence structures.
Operating instructions
1.) Filter:
Set filters in the left-hand area of the tool to adapt the results displayed to your individual starting position. The mean values for the importance of the competencies and the availability of the competencies are recalculated for each selection. The following filter options are available:
In the upper area you can see how many data records are still being taken into account. If this value falls below 20 data records, you must first remove some filters again. You can reset all filters using the button below.
Note:
◉: Filters with round selection boxes are stored with an AND link. You will therefore only see reviews of companies that meet all the selected criteria. The displayed results are therefore reduced as the number of filters increases.
🗹: Filters with square selection boxes have an OR link. You will see all ratings of companies that have selected at least one of the criteria in the respective category. The number of results displayed therefore increases with the number of filters.
2.) Assess importance and availability:
In the right-hand section of the tool, you can see how companies rate the importance and availability of skills.
Note:
- Sort: Sort all diagrams in ascending or descending order of importance or availability to get an overview of the skills that are critical to success.
- Hide: For a better overview, you can hide the bars by clicking on Importance/availability above the diagrams.
3.) Take action:
Build up the necessary skills in your company and get support, e.g. by taking advantage of other KARL offers, such as the AI training course or our accompanying offers.
